We can find this wood in the area of Carpathian mountains, in Siberia, in Manchuria and throughout the higher peaks of the central Europe.

> SPECIFIC WEIGHT
Seasoned on open air, it presents a medium specific weight 450 Kg/m3.

> TECHNOLOGICAL FEATURES
The sapwood is light yellowish and it is easily distinguished from the heartwood which is light reddish-yellow. This wood has a fine texture and an irregular fibre and it is characterised by several brown-red nods, that can be easily worked.

> DRYING METHOD
Drying can be easily processed.

> MAIN USES AND WORKING
Being workable and quite durable, this wood is suitable for open constructions. Screw and nail joints hold very well. Due to its characteristic nods it is often use in the production of country furniture, but it can also be easily carving and xylograph. Usually it is used for the creation of little objects, for craft works or foundry patterns.
