> GROWTH AREA
It’s a tree that grows all over the Europe. In Italy, it is found in the Fagetum and the Picetum areas, sometimes it can be found in groups with spruce-firs.

> TECHNOLOGICAL FEATURES
This wood is white but it tends to a light yellowish colour with some slight marked streaks. The spruce-fir is much more resinous than fir, which has no resinous canals, and for this reason is less resistant to atmospheric agents. This wood is very soft and light and so it is very liable to insect attacks. It is easily workable; it is suitable for cutting, stripping, carving and polishing. It is usually use for interior structures. Thanks to its malleability it is also use in the creation of musical instruments like sound boards.
