> GROWTH AREA 
Even if it has its origins in the Ivory Coast, it develops also with other essences throughout several humid forests in Ghana, Gabon, Nigeria and Cameron.

> TECHNOLOGICAL FEATURES
Sapwood and heartwood are distinguished. When the tree is yang the sapwood appears whitish but it changes colour when seasoned, becoming grey. Instead, the heartwood has some characteristics similar to the walnut but with light different nuances, that change from brown-yellow to brown-olive, depending from the provenience. It is a decorative wood thanks to the good effect produced by its black streaks. It is easily workable and very steady. When seasoned it becomes hard and heavy.

> SPECIFIC WEIGHT 
The specific weight of timber dried on open air can be estimated at 850 kg. per cubic meter.

DRYING MEHOD 
The artificial drying must be processed very slowly and carefully to avoid splitting and warping.

> MAIN USES AND WORKING 
This wood is normally used, such as walnut, for furnishing, versailles, for lathe works, etc. 

> WARNINGS 
This wood is known in Italy with the name of Daniela or Daniella.
